In collaboration with Fuzzy Duck, a series of playful, educational digital installations were created for Eureka! The National Children's Museum. Each experience was designed to blend creativity, interactivity, and light-touch learning within a high-traffic museum environment.

Next to this zone is a brilliant build-your-own butterfly screen where kids can get artistic on a video screen before watching their butterfly fly away.

Interactive Butterfly Exhibit

One of the standout installations invited children to design their own butterfly using an intuitive HTML5 canvas interface. After selecting a template, they could paint directly onto the wings before releasing their creation with a single tap. Upon launch, each 2D design transformed into a fully animated 3D butterfly using Three.js, taking flight within a shared virtual garden displayed across a large screen wall. Butterflies existed within a dynamic ecosystem, fluttering alongside others before gradually making way for new creations. The entire experience was rendered in-browser, with performance optimised through smart caching.

Interactive Fish Experience

The experience introduced a subtle layer of cause and effect. Incorrectly placed fins resulted in awkward, struggling movement once released into the shared digital tank. This added a playful sense of consequence, encouraging experimentation and problem-solving through interaction. Each creation became part of a persistent environment, with previously designed fish continuing to swim in the tank for others to discover. This created a shared, evolving ecosystem that rewarded participation and curiosity.
